Who would have guessed? House prices in Dublin… via The Cedar Lounge Revolution, May 1st, 2010 at 08:27

…fell again in the first quarter. The Permanent TSB/Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) House Price Index shows prices in Dublin fell 10.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2010 compared to a 3.5 per cent drop outside the capital. Over the 12 months to the end of March, the decline in Dublin was 24.5 per cent, and compared to a fall of 23.4 per cent in 2009. Well, as we’ve known and expected for a long time, our home heating bills will rise this week when our new carbon tax is levied on home heating oil and natural gas. The Sunday Business Post on Sunday 25th gives an idea of how this new tax will affect the already-struggling average family in Ireland: From Saturday, the price of kerosene home heating oil will rise by 8.4 per cent, while natural gas prices will rise by 6 per cent. The price of marked gas oil, liquid petroleum gas and fuel oil will also increase. . . . The price of kerosene home heating oil is set to rise by 8.4 per cent, meaning a typical 1,000 litre delivery of kerosene will increase in cost from €620 to €670. The price of marked gas oil, which is also used as a home heating fuel, is scheduled to increase by 8.7... Similar posts
