Stocking Fillers for Men - Skincare, Shaving & Personal Grooming Treats via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 12th, 2006 at 19:56

image Christmas is a great time to buy the man in yer life a few little skincare and shaving treats that he probably wouldn’t buy himself. We’ve thought about this long and hard, and our suggestions are as follows: Knights of The Green (Dundrum & Stephens Green, Dublin) have a range of American Crew sets for men - in particular the Peppermint Cleanse Shampoo & Pomade set for €12 would make a really nice stocking filler. What about a voucher for a hot towel shave? Men who’ve had them rave about them and for the man who won’t get a facial (lets face it, most of them), this is a manly way to get a bit of pampering. In Dublin, Knights of the Green can oblige you with a voucher for one, as can the Waldorf Barbershop in Westmoreland... Similar posts

Lavera Men - Skincare for Sensitive Skins via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Jan 17th, 2007 at 15:41

image Continuing on with Men Week, here’s one for the guys with sensitive skin. Women don’t have a monopoly on sensitive skin by any means, and men are just as likely to suffer from dryness, red patches and irritation as anyone else is. If you’re a fella and you’ve never had much success with male grooming products, read on, because I’m about to tell you a tale of a grooming ephiphany. My personal man, otherwise known as Himself, has very sensitive skin. He’s prone to dryness, flakiness and sore looking flareups and has been through a ton of different products over the years - Clinique for Men, Nivea, Lancome Homme, Gilette, King of Shaves, L’Oreal Men Experte and Biotherm have all had a place in his bathroom cabinet. Some he liked more than others,... Similar posts

Stocking Fillers for Men via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 7th, 2006 at 11:11

image While researching this post I once again realised what a desert of consumerism poor men have to live in (compared to women). Unless they’re into getting Homer Simpson socks and tie organisers in their stockings, there isn’t a whole lot out there to buy them, and I just can’t imagine many men getting worked up into a frenzy of excitement about either of those things. Poker chips are also ZzzZZz at this stage, as are novelty mugs, comedy boxers, and as for boxes of hankies…. My fella gets an obligatory selection box every year, but if you’re the same as me, and you want to ring the changes, here are a few beaut.ieous suggestions: M&S’s tired selection (minus points for their woeful toiletries) pretty much includes all of the above, but what... Christmas Goodies from Liz Earle via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 6th, 2006 at 11:35

image We had a post about Liz Earle a few weeks ago and it got a great response. If you’ve never tried her stuff out, Christmas is a perfect opportunity. In fact I am very much hoping that there is a Liz Earle related packaged under the tree for me this Christmas morning. There are some lovely Christmas gift ideas on the site right now too - and you’d be in time to have them delivered before the big day. From left to right (above), I particularly like the New Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Limited Edition which contains their award-winning Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser in a special limited edition 150ml pump, and is packaged for Christmas inside a winterscape box, plus 2 muslin cloths, all for £16.50. I’m also starting to get a little concerned about... Similar posts

Male Moisturisers via Beaut.ie, Oct 4th, 2006 at 13:54

I’ve been polling men of my acquaintance to find out what moisturisers they do and don’t recommend. If you’re a man reading this and you don’t use a moisturiser on a regular basis, honestly, you really should start. Skin care isn’t just for women, and like us you have to live in your skin for your whole life, so it’s really, really worth taking good care of. In addition, you lot have to shave every day and that abrades your skin too, so start taking care of it! Clinique M Lotion got several votes - one man said ‘basically, it just works’. Which is as good a recommendation as any! But like the women’s version, it doesn’t have a Skin Protection Factor (SPF) which I think is a bit of a failing. Clinique Superdefense was also...
