Songs for the Bewildered: Hungry Eyes via Fustar - Recycling Cultural Waste Since 2005, Feb 3rd, 2010 at 23:31

So there we were tonight watching (like the cool cats we are) the extras on the Dirty Dancing 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD (I know, I know…) when on comes the video for "Hungry Eyes". Three minutes and forty-five seconds later we're picking our slack jaws off the floor and frantically scrubbing our brains with industrial-strength Brillo pads (in vain attempts to remove the stain). Question: What the fuck had we just experienced? Answer: A freakish hell-ride through the deranged mind of a psychotic fantasist named Eric Carmen. Just watch. Just watch. As he sits in his grimly stylish industrial apartment, watching snuff-core porn flicks like a lunatic 80s yuppie version of... Similar posts

Sliced and diced! via i am landers, Jan 30th, 2009 at 23:13

Well the day hasn't been as good as I was hoping but it's finished with now. The A&E department of the dental hospital opens at 9am and the morning session is on until 1pm. The afternoon sessions starts at 1.30pm and finishes at 5pm. So after a night of very little sleep and waking up in agony due to the lack of pain killers me and my mother arrived at 9.15am. "Hi, I need to see a dentist please," I said to the very smiley receptionist. "Do you have an appointment?" she asked. "No, I didn't realise I needed one, I thought I could just walk in." "Oh you can," she said, "it's just that we're very busy and all the slots for our morning session have been taken up. I can give you a ticket and you can return at 1.30pm but other than that I'm afraid there is nothing I can do." She was... Similar posts

A Lovely Sunday : VERY LONG POST & OVERUSE OF THE WORD “STRANGE” ALERT via Resolutely Slutty, May 15th, 2006 at 11:55

Well, yesterday shifted from brilliant to terrible and back again about a zillion times. Butterflies in my tummy one minute, sea sickness the next. It was strange. After work Saturday night I got a taxi to The Boyfriend's place; yesterday, however, we were all supposed to meet in town for drinks, and seeing as it wasn't yet a good idea for the two of us to go together, I left his place at lunchtime and went to PromoterGuy's flat, where the four of us (me, The Boyfriend, PromoterGuy, and The Host) had planned to meet. Following? Ok. And that was kind of strange, because The Host was the only one who had no idea that The Boyfriend was... well, my boyfriend. The Boyfriend was the last to arrive at the flat, and he sat beside me on the couch, behind The Host who was sitting on the floor in... Similar posts

Alrighty then, so clearly my sister will staying here for a while, ensconced in casa fatmammycat. She came here at lunch time and dropped off two suitcases...so yeah, she might be staying a few day. I'm coping fine with the idea. Really I am, I'm fine with it.Honestly. I am not going to do that thing where I start noticing little things that irritate me, and then those little things start to magnify into bigger things that makes me want to...she is my sister, I love her of course, so I won't do that. Thursday evening, news time. The cats are fed and snoozing contendedly, dinner is on, all is quiet. Then she arrives back, bursting through the doors, (why does she not open them like normal people?) Cats scatter and Opium fills my nostrils. She flings her coat over the sofa. (why does that... Similar posts

The Blue Wind A one act radio play By Sandra Bunt… via Audition for Life, Aug 29th, 2005 at 13:58

The Blue Wind A one act radio playBy Sandra Bunting Intro: "..song is existence. Easy for the god. But when do we exist? And when does he spend the earth and the stars on our being? When we love? That's what you think when you are young; not so, though your voice forces open your mouth, -learn to forget how you sang. That fades. Real singing is a different kind of breath. A nothing breath. A ripple in the god. A wind."-Rilke on the creative process in Sonnet to Orpheus 'There is nothing to which we can attach ourselves, no matter how hard we try. In time, things will change and the conditions that produced our current desireswill be gone. Why then cling to them now?'-Master Hsing Yun The play alternates between two setting: the New York apartment to represent, human existence, and... Similar posts
