A row has broken out at the heart of Europe as to whether Jedward’s Eurovision semi-final performance was enough to ensure that Ireland gets a revised EU-IMF bailout. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is understood to be quite besotted with the ...
It’s the porno mag question that stops you in your tracks. How will Jedward, this year’s bona fide pop sensation, deal with the ‘your mum threw away your best porno mag’ line in their cover of the Beastie Boys’ (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)? Yes, that’s right. The Beastie Boys. If Jedward’s debut (and let’s face, quite probably only) album does anything, it takes a pretty eclectic look at the history of music. Over the course of it’s tracks, they tackle the work of Queen, Reel II Reel, Blink 182, M, Vanilla Ice, Ray Parker Jr and The Undertones amongst others. Again…yes. The Undertones.

Anyone reading this from outside Ireland/the UK will be uttering ‘Jedward who’ round about now. Here’s a bit of background on the phenomenon that is Jedward.
Jedward are twin teenage boys -- John and Edward Grimes -- from Lucan, Dublin who entered Simon Cowell’s ‘talent’ show last year
It quickly became obvious that despite their quirky ‘There’s Something About Mary’ haircuts and cheese-tastic matching outfits, the twins could not sing
They became the centre of attention, being booed at every live performance, with all talk focused on how they were lowering the tone of the competition
With the resilience of cockroaches and a truly unbelievable and inexplicable performance of Britney Spears ‘Oops I Did it Again’ complete...
