Scent for Boyfriends, Husbags & Brothers via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 6th, 2006 at 16:39

image I know what Himself is getting - Paul Smith’s new Story fragrance (below left). He has no choice in this matter, I like it and that’s that. Ah no, I’m not that mean, he is a fan of Paul Smith’s original Eau de Toilette (second left, €38.50, 50ml - also a good bet for the man in your life) and I do think he’ll like this one too - it’s very fresh and clean, with a hint of melon about it. Yum! You won’t get this cheap online because it’s new, so expect to pay about €50 for it. In my experience, the fella in your life won’t wear just anything. It’ll have to be by someone credible and it’ll have to smell good. DKNY scores in this regard - both Be Delicious (middle, €33.50, 50ml) and the original Eau de Toilette (€34.50,... Similar posts

GM takes us on a scentuous experience! via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 8th, 2006 at 10:05

image Introducing one of our regular readers, GM, with his no holds barred expose on mens fragrance. He know’s what he likes and he’s not afraid to tell us when he doesn’t. Aaah - the kind of refreshing honesty we love at Beaut.ie! So sock it to us GM! “Scent is very primal and can let you make snap decisions about another person can’t it? Lets take a little look at how this can work in practice. Person A (lets call her Jacinta), approaches person B (lets call him Deco), and she gives him a quick look and a sniff. This is all Jacinta needs to make a snap decision about Deco. At this point Jacinta will either (a) make the old “my shoe (or white stilletto from Pennys) is filling up with blood and I need to leave” excuse, or (b) pounce on Deco and begin... Similar posts

Perfume for Mammies via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 5th, 2006 at 17:42

image Unless you are Oedipus or Jamie Barlow I think we’ll just play it safe and assume that scent for Mammy as given to her by her adult children should be Nice and Non Sexy. Her husband (or tennis coach) is the man to be giving her seductive scents and despite what Mr. Ray D’Arcy thinks, this is Not That Sort of Website. So with that in mind, what do I recommend? Any of the family of Lancome Miracle scents (Miracle So Magic!, Miracle (€38.50, 50ml) and Miracle Forever) would go down a treat with any woman who likes spicy florals. Estee Lauder’s Pleasures (€36.50, 50ml) is a lovely fresh scent and would be perfect for daytime wear, as would Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea (€20.50, 50ml). Still on an Elizabeth Arden note, 5th Avenue (€34, 75ml) would be a great... Similar posts

Scent for Girlfriends & Wives via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 5th, 2006 at 17:25

image If you’ve only just started seeing each other, why not give your new gal some Romance by Ralph Lauren (€32 30ml)? She’ll either be delighted with such a romantic and thoughtful gesture, or run for the hills lest you start talking marriage and babies. I think boys, this is one you’d want to gague carefully. Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely (€37.50 50ml) might be a better choice. Be warned though, lots of people consider celeb scents to be the height of tacky, so step carefully. Viz Kylie’s new scent Darling. You could also indicate your state of mind by getting her Happy by Clinique (€30.50 50ml) - I think that would be adorable! You should have no problem picking up any of those four in your local Boots or a decent chemist, and Strawberrynet will also... Similar posts

Beaut.ie & Perfume Ireland Competition! via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Nov 12th, 2006 at 13:18

Don’t forget to enter our deadly competition - Perfumeireland have given us a prize worth €100 - a big old bottle of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion, a pot of Creme De La Mer and a 50ml perfume or aftershave of your choice! That’s a sweet deal. So what perfume could you get if you won? They have a great selection, I drooled as I browsed. Lancome Hypnose is gorgeous, and so is Miracle So Magic, a lovely fresh scent for daytime. The vamps among us could go for Agent Provocateur’s Eau de parfum, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Calvin Klein’s Escape and Eternity, plus they also have one of my long time perfume favourites, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Yum! What about the men? Clinique’s Happy for men is lovely, fruity and fresh. Old... Similar posts
