FIANNA Fáil TD Michael McGrath has welcomed the allocation of €300,000 by the Department of Transport for the resurfacing of Carrigaline Main Street. The funding will go towards the resurfacing of 600 metres of Main Street and the work will be done later this year following the laying of a new water main pipe, according to Deputy McGrath.
Deputy McGrath, who had taken up the issue of funding for the resurfacing of the Main Street directly with Transport Minister Noel Dempsey, said, “I am delighted that the Minister has recognised the unacceptable condition of Carrigaline Main Street and has provided this Specific Improvement Grant which will help to address the appalling condition of the road surface.
