Luciano Pavarotti dead via Ireland Live, Sep 6th, 2007 at 18:55

image Lucian Pavarotti has died at the age of 71 following his operation for pancreatic cancer in July last year and hospitalisation last month. The 71-year-old was considered one of the greatest voices of his generation, and achieved success well beyond the ranks of classical music enthusiasts. He won first prize in a competition in 1961 and was rewarded with the role of Rodolphe in Puccini's 'La Boheme' in nearby Reggio Emilia.Despite his success, he never fully learned to read music, preferring to memorise his roles. In 1996 he left his wife Adua after 35 years of marriage and three grown-up daughters for his secretary Nicoletta Mantovani, whom he married in 2003, they had one child. The singer's weight caused him increasing health problems in his later years, and he also ran into trouble with... Luciano Pavarotti RIP via The Blog of madringo, Sep 6th, 2007 at 19:14

This morning, we lost probably one of the greatest voices the world has ever encountered. Luciana Pavorotti the infamous Italian Tenor died this morning surrounded by his family at his home in Modena, Italy. He had been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2006. Pavorotti, was of course one of the most famous opera singers, but was also famous for the number of duets he partook over recent years. He’s proformed with bands such as Queen, as well as James Brown (who died on Christmas Day 2006) and Barry White (Died July 4 2003). He was mostly known for his role in the Three Tenors, whom toured during the 1990’s and in recent years. The Late Pavarotti and The Late James Brown... Similar posts

Fat Lady Sings, Curtain Falls . . BAM! via Cranky Canuck Living In Ireland Wanting To Go Home, Sep 6th, 2007 at 12:06

But the big question is . . . what is Dom Deluise going to do?? Sorry Mom. Italian opera star Luciano Pavarotti, known as the King of High Cs in his heyday, died on Thursday at the age of 71. Pavarotti was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and had surgery in July 2006 at a New York hospital to remove a pancreatic tumour. He cancelled all remaining concerts for his Worldwide Farewell Tour and since then had not made any public appearances. The tenor underwent another two weeks of treatment last month, and was released from hospital in his hometown of... Similar posts

Luciano Pavarotti - RIP via The Rambling Man, Sep 6th, 2007 at 09:21

The famous and larger than life Italian opera singer, Luciano Pavarotti, has died at aged 71. The singer passed away this morning at his home in Modena, Italy from complications arising from his battle with pancreatic cancer. He had given his last public performance - fittingly of Nessun Dorma, his signature tune - at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2006. May he rest in peace with the words of Puccini’s song resonating to his memory … Dilegua, o notte! Tramontate, stelle! Tramontate, stelle! All’alba vincerò! Vincerò ! Vincerò ! No one will know his name and we must, alas, die. Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win! Technorati tags : luciano pavarotti : nessun dorma : opera :...
