Let REN take care of sensitive skin via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Dec 29th, 2008 at 12:00

image I don’t know if it was the cold weather at fault, but recently my skin has seemed to turn ultra-sensitive. Even my old favourite cleansers were making my face sting, so I needed something new. The problem is, I often find cleansers for sensitive skin are not really very effective at cleansing. Soothing, yes, but that’s about it. And then I met REN’s Calendula and Arctic Berry Ultracalm Cleansing Milk. Designed to calm and soothe sensitive skin, while cleansing thoroughly, this cleanser contains triglycerides from Coconut and Palm Oils, which gently cleanse, while bio actives from Arctic Blackcurrant Seed and Arctic Seabuckthorn Berry Oil boost skin lipid content and preserve moisture levels. Adding to these, peroxidase enzymes from Fennel Seed combat pollution while... Similar posts

Trilogy Very Gentle Cleansing Cream: cleanses very gently via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Jul 14th, 2010 at 10:30

image I hadn’t yet read Kirstie’s post on Trilogy’s new sensitive skin line when I happened across it in my local pharmacy, but it landed on the shelf just at the right time. I had run out of my previous cleanser, felt like trying something new and wanted something that would be kind to my currently very dry and somewhat sensitive skin. While I love many other Trilogy products, the existing cleansers in the line hadn’t really suited me, so I was very excited to see the new addition. Very Gentle Cleansing Cream, €25.95, is a fragrance-free, water-based cleansing cream packed with pure plant oils, including camellia and chamomile, known for their calming and non-sensitising properties. In addition, sweet almond, avocado, olive and calendula oils ensure that the skin... Similar posts

Cheap thrill: Lavera Aloe Vera Cleansing Milk via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Oct 22nd, 2009 at 09:30

image It’s not often you’ll find me going for the cheap option when it comes to skincare, but circumstances necessitated a change recently when I went on holiday without cleansing milk. I didn’t want to buy a big bottle that I wouldn’t be able to bring home, as I was traveling with hand luggage only and it’s surprising how few lines offer cleansers in anything less than 200ml bottles. After a bit of searching, however, I came across the German natural skincare line Lavera, who conveniently sell their cleansers in 75ml tubes. And priced at not much more than a fiver in Austria, I decided it was worth taking a chance on their Aloe Vera Cleansing Milk for sensitive skin. Formulated with organic aloe vera, as well as natural moisturising agents such as sweet almond... Similar posts

How to: DIY facials via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Jun 17th, 2009 at 10:30

image There are many benefits to the DIY home facial. No dreaded panpipes or rainforest-y music for one thing. No danger of an overzealous facialist going to town on your mug either, leaving you feeling slightly battered and definitely not relaxed (it’s happened to me and yes, I probably should have said something at the time). You can relax on the couch in your pyjamas while you wait for masks to do their thing, rather than trying to figure out how to place your arms on the narrow bed to avoid one or both of them falling asleep (it can’t only be me this happens to, can it?). You can also catch up on reading magazines or watching tv while you do it - I personally find this more relaxing than lying in a salon, where I tend to spend the time making mental lists of things I need to do... First Impressions: REN No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Apr 22nd, 2009 at 09:30

image I’ve been using REN’s Calendula and Arctic Berry Ultracalm Cleansing Milk for quite a while now and really like it, but when I read about their new No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm, I just couldn’t resist. Maybe it was the superlative-sounding name, maybe it was the description of “a luxurious silky rose infused cleansing balm“, but either way, it didn’t take long for it to end up in my shopping basket on the REN website. This cleanser really is a treat to use. Packaged in the same type of pump bottle as the other REN cleansers, this balm has a thick texture that melts as you massage it into your skin. If you like the idea of cleansing oils, but find them a bit messy to use, this might be the product for you - you get the benefit of the oils it contains... Similar posts
