Apple today revealed, that isn’t long anticipated tablet (the iPad) will be first shipped to our shores next Friday, July 23rd. It will also be launched in eight other countries: Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore. “iPad allows users to connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before” says Apple in it’s press release this morning from it’s Head Quarters in Cupertino, California. Apple first unveiled the iPad at their press conference in late January this year and first launched the product in late April in the US. Apple today announced that it sold over 300,000 iPads in the USA as of midnight Saturday, April 3rd. These sales included deliveries of pre-ordered iPads to customers, deliveries to channel partners and sales at Apple Retail Stores. Apple also announced that iPad users downloaded over one million apps from Apple's App Store and over 250,000 ebooks from its iBookstore during the first day. Apple finally announced the exact date of iPad availability in the U.S.: It’s Saturday, April 3, for Wi-Fi models, while models with both Wi-Fi and 3G will be available in late April. As far as other countries go, all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April. Over the last couple of days there have been a number of news reports reporting that there may be a delay in the proposed launch of the Apple iPad in the USA (try here, hereand here). From what I can see, almost all these news stories are directly or indirectly attributed to Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek.
