Couch Potato – DVDs Out This Week via Culch.ie, Feb 3rd, 2010 at 14:00

image Couch Potato this week comes to you a day later than usual. The Oscar nominations yesterday knocked me back a bit so I do apologise. We have an interesting if unexceptional line-up this week, but there should be a little something in the sack to suit everyone’s tastes. First out this week is Surrogates, the latest Bruce Willis flick directed by Terminator 3′s Jonathan Mostow. Set in a near future utopia the movie sees human being sequestered at home, no longer needing to venture out into the world, as all human activity is now conducted via surrogates, mechanical versions of the person sent forth to do their bidding. Bruce Willis plays a cop who is forced to investigate a murder where the user is killed after the surrogate is shot by an unknown weapon. It’s an odd... Similar posts

The Invention of Lying Movie Review 98 via Jigsaw's Lair, Feb 1st, 2010 at 11:22

The Invention of Lying is written, directed and stars Ricky Gervais. He is responsible for The Office series and Extras so I knew that this movie would be funny. It also stars Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, Louis C.K, Jeffrey Tambor, Fionnula Flanagan, Rob Lowe and Tina Fey. There is a great cast as you can see and there are great cameos from Jason Bateman, Christopher Guest, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Edward Norton. Ricky Gervais plays Mark Bellison in a world where everyone tells the truth to each other. He is a movie screenwriter who writes movies about historical facts as there is no such thing as fiction. Bellison loses his job as he was stuck writing about The Black Plague and while he gets to go on a date with Anna McDoogles played by Jennifer Garner, she is not attracted to him.... Similar posts
