Anatomicals Shower to The People: Yum Yum via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Jun 23rd, 2009 at 10:30

image The aforementioned big Beaut.ie shop of cheapness has seen me wash my hair with things that haven’t touched it in many a year and wash my skin with SLS-packed ‘wonders’ which made me reaffirm my decision to switch to posh shower gel. Yes, it is hideously expensive but my dry skin thanks me when a bottle of Cowshed something-or-other gets brought home, as opposed to the WHOREibble Radox thing I’ve been using in the interests of ‘product testing’. Needless to say, when Anatomicals Shower to the People turned up in the post, my skin practically leapt from my body to welcome it. OK, it does contain sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), a foaming agent that’s a milder version of sodium lauryl sulphate. For me that’s not ideal, because I try to... Similar posts

Voya Squeaky Clean Body Wash Gets the Man Thumbs-up via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Mar 2nd, 2010 at 15:30

image We share a lot, myself and himself. A couch, TV rights and the remote control, but rarely shower gel. My product of choice is posh and expensive; his is any auld shite from the supermarket, and when he ran out recently I was most put out to have to donate a recently-arrived tube of Voya’s Squeaky Clean body wash, €16, to the cause. Pricey, yes, but it’s Irish, organic and a nice brand, not to mention a bit of a treat. This is lovely stuff. It’s got a silky texture, it’s SLS-free so non-drying and it’s packed full of goodies like organic seaweed harvested off the west coast as well as lots of oils and vitamin E. Nicely conditioning, so. It also smells amazing: sort of gingery – though I don’t think there is any actual ginger in the mix –... Similar posts

One product, many uses: Johnson’s Baby Top-to-Toe Wash via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, May 20th, 2009 at 10:30

image It may not have grabbed your attention (particularly if you don’t happen to have any babies lying around), but Johnson’s Baby Top-to-Toe wash has been a must-have in my bathroom for quite a while now. Not just a baby wash, I use this for a number of different things: as a body wash in the shower: this foams up nicely, has a lovely light, fresh fragrance and the soap-free formula is very gentle on sensitive skin as a foaming face wash: when I just need a gentle wash-off cleanser, I use this either over the sink or in the shower. It doesn’t dry my skin out and the fragrance is so light that I don’t have to worry about getting a mouthful of perfumed suds (yes, this has happened to me on many an occasion with overly-perfumed products and it is NOT pleasant!) as a... Eco Conscious Skin Care via Irish Sally Garden, Feb 25th, 2008 at 21:07

image One person who has commented regularly on this blog is Marie Chantal. Following her links I found that she makes skin care products using essential oils.  What I really liked about her website and blog was the fact that she feels passionately about making top quality eco friendly products for sensitive skin, and you can feel that passion for what she makes come through from her site. She is somebody who hasn't just jumped on the eco-friendly band wagon, I believe she is doing it because its something she truly believes in. As a consumer this is the line on her website that grabs my attention ... this is the nitty gritty information glossed over by other skin care providers with pretty pictures and marketing blurb... 'Our products contain only natural preservatives and are free from... Similar posts

Swit Swoo - Brand New Origins Organics via Beaut.ie - The Irish Beauty Blog, Jan 24th, 2008 at 09:30

image Perfectly appropriately, Origins have launched a brand new line, Origins Organics. And unlike a lot of other brands, the majority of it truly is organic. They’ve made the right and proper decision to seek certification from both the Soil Association in the UK, and the USDA in the States, and that means that you, the customer, get products that are exactly what they say they are. This is so important when you’re buying a product that claims to be organic - check labels, check for certification symbols, and if there are a lot of chemical names high up on the list of ingredients, ditch it. This range is great - nine products in total, and not a divil a one contains any nasties like parabens, synthetic fragrance, or sodium laureth sulphate, a foaming agent that’s a major... Similar posts
