
Sad farewell to a solid actor.Much-loved actor Edward Woodward passed away Monday (Nov 16) at the Royal Cornwall Hospital aged 79. He had been suffering from health problems for some time. Born in Surrey in 1930, Woodward graduated from London’s Royal Academy For Dramatic Art, moving from stage to film and TV appearances. In 1967, he made a big break playing perturbed British Intelligence assassin Callan in the highly popular TV series of the same name. It ran for four series, spawning a 1974 film and a 1981 reunion episode, and earned Woodward a BAFTA in 1970.
