Another Interesting New Video From Josh Ritter via The Clink, Aug 24th, 2010 at 12:00

image Josh Ritter is continuing to release some very interesting videos for his new material. After being blown away by The Curse, I find myself appreciating the new video for his new single, Rattling Locks. What’s also a continuing trend is that the video is produced by one of Ritter’s band members – Royal City Band keyboard player and producer, Sam Kassirer. According to Kassirer: This video/photo essay was made exclusively with 120mm medium format photographs taken partially over 2009 US and Europe tours, and partially from a shoot with Josh to capture specific images that the song evokes. Locations include the London Eye, The Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans LA, and a piano tuning shop in Somerville, MA. Hopefully it comes across as sort of scary and a little bit... Similar posts

Musical Interlude: Closer to the Edge by 30 Seconds to Mars via Girl from the Hills Blog, Aug 23rd, 2010 at 23:10

Can you imagine a time when the truth ran free A birth of a song, a death of a dream Closer to the edge Thirty Seconds To Mars – Closer To The Edge Thirty Seconds to Mars | MySpace Music Videos Amazing video filmed like a documentary. It really captures the live performance to perfection. ‘Closer to the Edge’ is the third single from ‘This Is War,’ the third full-length album from multi-platinum rock band 30 Seconds to Mars. According to the MTV Blog, “Closer to the Edge” is different because it is darn-near 100 percent about the fans themselves: their lives and loves and fears, and how all of those things motivated them to attend a 30STM show in the first place. They are the stars, they are the main attraction. The video — directed by Leto,... Similar posts

Arcade Fire Overload: Gig, Video & Free Tunes via The Clink, Aug 21st, 2010 at 21:00

image It’s now the end of what was quite an Arcade Fire centred couple of weeks in the Irish world of music announcements. First, there were the rumours of a Dublin gig, then came the official announcement, the outcry from the masses on the ticket prices, the pre-sale, the official sale – then the announcement of a second date. The second date is Monday, 6th December and there are still tickets available on ticketmaster. The Irish charts had the band’s third album, The Suburbs, at the top for a couple of weeks, and a new video has made its way onto the web for the album’s next single, Ready To Start. Its being described as an exclusive, official video by the guys at El Mundo, and its a pretty good teaser for December’s The o2 gigs – given that its a live... Similar posts

Blau A Go-Go via blaubushka, Aug 17th, 2010 at 10:00

image My nights of go-go dancing are being further fuelled by the music of The Like. Hailing from California The Like have undergone a make over after being resurrected by music producer Mark Ronson. Leaving behind the sound of their first album 'Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking?' the group are channeling the music of classic girl groups, British invasion acts, and 1960s female songwriters and moving in a whole new direction with a whole new look! Blau likes. Blau listens. Blau dances along; dress all short, hair all beehive, lashes all a flutter.Mod vibes, 60's styles; girls all a' wild.Blau... Similar posts

Me Hols/ Back from Berlin / Tonights radio/ feeling via homoludo, Aug 7th, 2010 at 15:04

image Been away for pretty much six weeks , lots of stuff. Berlin which was hot in the first das gaff. Highlights of which included hanging out with these wacky  atompunk sound artists. And watching Prince Kong kissing babies.(pics to follow) Within ten minutes of walking into said second gaff(above) , I found a Cd  of this Seeed Berlin anthem(below) which I’d lost a while ago and been looking for.Which correctly boded well for our stay there. Highlights of this stay included getting into Berghain on this visit (didn’t dig my beard, hat and dark glasses last time, the squares) and watching Richie !Kaboogie convert to HiNRG disco( no pics ’cause they’re banned in Berghain for that very reason) and tile graff artist Dj Tile cutters  exploits, in which he repeatedly... image At the start of the year the Ontario based duo Memoryhouse released an amazing EP called The Years for free through their MySpace page. I've been listening to it all year and really love it.
